Accurate budgeting and cost management are critical for the success of any construction project. This section describes how to set budgets, track expenses, and control costs throughout your project's lifecycle.

Setting Project Budgets#

  1. Open your project and navigate to the Budget tab.
  2. Define overall project budget and allocate funds to specific phases or tasks.
  3. Use Bills of Quantity: Import budget data directly from BOQ for accurate cost estimation.
  4. Input estimated costs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  5. Work Package Budgets: Allocate budgets to work packages for better cost control.

Cost Tracking#

  • Record actual expenses as work progresses.
  • Attach invoices, receipts, and supporting documents to expense entries.
  • Monitor budget consumption in real-time using dashboards.

Budget vs Actual Analysis#

  • Compare planned vs actual expenditures by phase, task, work package, or resource type.
  • BOQ vs Actual: Compare BOQ estimates with actual consumption and costs.
  • Work Package Analysis: Analyze costs at the work package level.
  • Inventory Usage Costs: Track material costs from inventory usage records.
  • Identify cost overruns early and adjust plans accordingly.
